Day 13

Can I (should I) wear this outside of the house?

Seriously: Can I?

I'm old. Remember that.

Day 12

Speed Queens and their Ladies-in-Waiting. This transient lady has a message from American Eagle Outfitters for us: "Live Your Life". Carpe diem, people, carpe diem.

I just thought I might add a helpful laundry-mat tip I overheard today: Include brightly colored kinky men's underwear in with your laundry. Nobody will mess with your stuff if they see that flying around in the dryer.

Day 11

I've made this before. No, wait: I made Venice in white voile with a little bit of green. And I made Venice in voile with a little bit of pink. And I made Venice in voile with a little bit of blue. So, no: I hadn't made this before. It's Venice in white voile with a little bit of red.

Well, if you do something you love for someone you love, I suppose a little repetition can be forgiven. It's not the most popular, but this is a skirt I, personally, really like to make.

Zugegeben: Ich hab' bereits so etwas genäht.

Day 10

Behind the Orange Curtain ...

What's that?

Look ...

Wait ...

That's so cool! A monster in Orange County!

Thank you anonymous OC monster maker!

(What kind of photography do you expect while driving at 75 mph *cough* I mean 65 mph? *cough*)

Day 8

For the RAW brand of CompactFlash medium, whatever you do, eject it, before you use it again. Even if you're in a hurry and even if you don't eject the SanDisk brand CompactFlash media every time, because, well, you're human and in a hurry and that still works fine, for RAW, eject it. Don't just pull it from the reader and stuff if in your camera.

Otherwise, it's almost as if the pretty rain pixie never appeared dancing in your backyard yesterday.

I know she did. I saw her. I took a picture of her. The picture might be on this RAW CompactFlash. I may never know. Because the computer can't find her. But, I'll never forget her.

Curling up with a good book.

30 Days: Day 3

Local yolk-els: Sunny bad cholesterol balls left on the breakfast dishes. A strange still life study of yellow. No photo staging, I promise.

30 Days: Day 2

Lunch with an ocean view.
Worker, Redondo Beach, 17 January 2008.

(I'll admit: Spontaneous environmental portraits are my favorite kind of pix)

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Redecorating.

Trying, anyway.

Please watch your step around this blog as I renovate.

30 days: Day 1

Jesus Van Man. He also has a bike.
Redondo Beach, January 16, 2008.

I wanna play, too!

Can I?

I want to play with the big blog girls and take 30 Days of Everyday. Maybe I should ask first. But I'm too scare to. I'll just play on the playground over here. The game wasn't my idea, it was hers, but I just want to play, too.

Please?

Mojo? mojo? Where art thou, mojo?

It has been weeks since I have posted! And I haven't made much worth looking at in over a month. I may have lost my mojo, baby!

There are certain mojo-killers and I have had my share in the past weeks, in no particular order:

• Customer service "help" lines
• Rear end collision
• Claims adjusters
• An Emergency operation (everything's fine)
• A doctor who cannot find a reason for the pain, therefore there is no pain. (Dude, there also happens to be no proof for gravity, and yet I'm thinking there is gravity)
• Quicken
• Windows OS
• Christmas
• Trade dress infringement (just stop, just c'mon, stop. Or ask. That's all I'm asking: Ask)
• Paperwork
• Inventory shorts
• Bored children
• Squirrely children
• Bickering children
• Paperwork (I mentioned paperwork, but I should mention it again)
• Paperwork
• Shoddy plumbing work
• Mystery paperwork I need to prepare for my business
• Overdue account statements
• 5th thread threading on the 5 thread serger
• Paperwork
• Wrinkles

On the mojo-inducing side, I have a spiffy new computer (say hello to my computer: It's saying "welcome" to you), a rad new camera with some sick lenses (let the lens envy begin, ladies), and shelves full of really luscious fabric. So it's up to me.

Whatever.
