One of my favorite German words that can't be directly translated... Did I ever tell you that I had to sing German Christmas carols one year? Yes, your cousin stood there at the age of 15 singing "Alle Jahre wieder", "O du fröliche", "Kling, Glöckchen", and several others to a group of senior citizens who A) did not speak German and B) didn't really know where they were.

What's odd is that while large chunks of my German have atrophied, the Christmas carols are stuck in there for good.

Frohe Weihnachten!
