My gal wanted to be "cupid". Cupid? What is a cupid costume? A diaper?

Rummage...rummage...rummage through my fabrics... A bit of red velvet--yes. Black velvet ribbon--okay. Wait, this silvery coated twill--I like the way it looks with the velvet and the ribbon...what about gingham...?
Anyway, this is what I came up with. More of a steampunk love warrior. She was happy. I'm happy. All good.

Love it - especially the silver twill with the gingham. Excellent idea, too. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who goes all-out making Halloween costumes. This year my kids all wanted Alice in Wonderland costumes - Alice for the not-quite 6 year-old, the White Rabbit for my 3 year-old son, and the Queen of Hearts (based on the Tim Burton Red Queen costume) for my 12 year-old. I sewed down to the wire on them but I was pretty happy with the result. I did tell the oldest that I wasn't sure I could top her costume, however.
Hello Katherine H! We have an overdress and a full underdress, plus a two-layer chiffon pettiskirt. This pettiskirt is from Momma's Touch, which I don't believe is making them anymore. But there are plenty out there.
