10 in 10 for 10 - Day Seven

For Shel Silverstein fans:

I found it! I found it! Today, I found where the sidewalk ends!

And for good measure, the poem:

Where the Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Love it! Shel Silverstein is one of my fav authors from childhood. I'll have to show this to my 10 year-old, who is really getting into his poems, too.

What a wonderful idea, I love your 'Meme' and I love all the others I have seen. Such lovely photos, and what a way to record a moment in time. Am I able to join in? Is it too late? I am not a photographer at all, far from it, but this 10 days, I am sure I could handle AND learn to work with my camera better, either that or have a little memento of 10 days of crap photos to laugh at. Oh and I need to learn how to do the mosaic thing too, that looks great. I will link back to you as the originator on my blog also.

Hello Joyce! Silly goose: OF COURSE you can join in! And part of the idea is not to get caught up in the photos, but in taking the photos. And please don't get caught up in titles. Photographer schmotographer. Pulizters for photography have been awarded to amateurs.

Thank you for playing along!

I love the way your photos link perfectly to the poem, great job! And can't wait to see some photos from Joyce too. I have found this such a fantastic exercise.
