Back to school!

I haven't been sewing much. Well, I've been sewing quite a bit the past days, but nothing fit for public viewing. Ew. I have a big responsibility, not wanting to create a crock, or should I say a "Croc": The guys who made those Croc shoes probably thought it would be fine to sell a few gardening shoes in the United States. But look at what a mess we have now! Adults walking around in clown shoes! And those things do not decompose. Croc shoes will be our legacy. Future archeologists will pull look at these Croc things and quickly be able to draw a straight line from these shoes to the downfall of our civilization.

But I did burn the midnight sewing machine oil and did come up with a little back-to-school get-up for the girl. Is it too colorful? Um, yeah. I told you it was late. The girl was not in the mood for photos. But can I tell you how great it is just to grab a pattern like ANTONIA, be able to sew it up while the child is asleep (so I can't wake her up for fitting) and have the shirt go together and fit like a dream? I know, I know, I sell these things, so there is some shameless plugging here (and for full disclosure, I will tell you that I think the ANTONIA sleeves run a tad long. Perhaps we are short-armed people. Whatever the case, you might want to fit for that). But really, again and again these Farbenmix patterns just do the trick. I won't sell you a crock.

One last SoCal Summer image to take with you into fall.

FYI: ANTONIA Shirt, LAGUNA skirt & leggings. Fabrics available from BanberryPlace, FabricBliss and BunteFabrics. Appliqué is salvaged from a Boo Hoo Woo T-shirt.

I think that outfit is just the right amount of bright. I've had those patterns in my stash for awhile now and I really need to get them sewn.

As for crocs, I totally agree!
