Serge is not my hairdresser, it is a type of stitching

My Watch List on eBay is top to bottom overlock machines. I've been lurking around serger auctions for, gosh, it must be months now. I can't commit to a serger. I've been sewing sans serge and have been finishing my edges with zigzag (I know, I know: War in Iraq, Global Warming, edges finished in zigzag. What is the world coming to?).

Despite my status sans serger, I just had to dig into these knits. Had to. But you know what? Sans serge works. Even for knits. I'm good with it. Just don't turn these clothes inside out: The world is in a precarious state as it is.

FYI: Pattern Farbenmix QUIARA (form and fit just dreamy!)

Hey ;O)

I didn´t know you have commitment issues *LOL*. Don´t worry, you´ll find the right overlock machine. Maybe it just needs some more time ;O)

P.S.: Anna looks adorable in her new outfit !!

Ha! I have not entered the overlock-age either. I'm from the S-L-O-W-C-R-A-F-T movement (see also: slow food movement). But in reality i'm just lazy and technophobic and I can't justify buying an overlock machine at this point because I hardly get to sewing these days.

Enough about me: Anna's outfit proves you make lovely things without the overlock. But get yourself one anyway. It'll fit your mission statement concerning the having fun and making money (I'm sure they are more efficient than the zigzag-method?)

PS: Thanks for your nice comment on my fency post ;) I love those US of A porches. A porch, a Hollywood swing, some (long island)ice tea, smell of barbecue, garden full of kids playing and a couple of cotton fields. Hmmm...life can be romantic...

Hi Nancy,

I know what you're talking about first hand....laugh.
I have an overlock but am really toying with the idea of buying a real nice one. But as money is always a rare commodity (is that spelled correctly) I gues I will have to use my old one a while longer.

Anna outfit is absolutely gorgeous. And I also love the new jacket you made for her (Sylt) That is definitely a looker.
I still need Anna's waist size.

So long

Of course, there is a life without a serger after all, BUT, once you have one, you will keep asking yourself, why you did wait so long!
It is fun, saves hours for many other nice projects and it looks good! ;o)
I cannot image living without one anymore!

Get one! ;o))
